The Localization Management Core Competencies (LMCC) research study has as its purpose the identification of the core competences necessary to practice in diverse localization roles. The long-term aim of the study is to contribute to international standards of best practice related to professional localization practice. The LMCC typology is a hierarchy of localization knowledge and skills necessary to practice as a localization manager. The LMCC typology is comprised of seven dimensions: Management; GILT; Technology; Technical; Language, Culture, & Communication; Research & Critical Thinking; and Contextual. These dimensions are further subdivided into related competencies and skills.
